Inkstone Terms of Service
Effective: June 24, 2026 · Last updated: June 24, 2026
These Terms of Service are entered into between you (the user) and Nanjing Chunchun Technology Co., Ltd., the operator of Inkstone (the "App", "we", "us"). Please read these Terms in full before using the App, especially the clauses shown in bold. By registering, signing in, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to all of these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App.
1. The Service
The App is an AI-powered study-flashcard tool. Its main features include generating study flashcards with AI from documents you upload (PDF, text, Anki decks, etc.), spaced-repetition review, AI explanations, a deck store, and membership services. We may add, adjust, or discontinue certain features as needed for operations, and will notify you by appropriate means.
2. Account and Use
- You must register with a valid email address and are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your account and verification codes secure; any account compromise caused by you is your responsibility.
- Each account is for your personal use only and may not be lent, transferred, sold, or shared with others.
- If you discover unauthorized use of your account, please contact us immediately.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to comply with applicable laws when using the App and must not:
- upload, generate, or distribute content that violates applicable laws, infringes others' intellectual property or other lawful rights, or contains pornographic, violent, or otherwise unlawful and harmful material;
- use the App for any activity that endangers network security, including but not limited to malicious scraping, attacks, cracking, bulk registration, or API abuse;
- reverse engineer or decompile the App, or interfere with or disrupt the service by improper means.
You must own the lawful rights to the content you upload, or have obtained the necessary authorization. You are solely responsible for any infringement or unlawful conduct arising from content you upload; we may delete, restrict, or ban infringing content and accounts.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
- Your content: the original documents you upload and the private decks generated from them remain yours; ownership is not changed by your use of the App. To provide storage, recognition (OCR), AI generation, sync, and similar services, you grant us a limited license to process this content solely as necessary to provide the service.
- Our content: the intellectual property in the App's official decks, software, interface, design, trademarks, and related materials belongs to us or the respective rights holders. You may not copy, distribute, or use it for commercial purposes without permission.
- Limitations of AI-generated content: AI-generated flashcards and explanations may contain errors or inaccuracies. They are for study reference only and do not constitute any professional or authoritative conclusion. Please verify important content yourself.
5. Payments, Membership, and Virtual Items
- The App offers paid services such as membership subscriptions, flashcard-credit packs, and individual deck purchases. Prices and entitlements are as displayed on the purchase page in real time.
- Payments are processed through Apple In-App Purchase. Once a virtual item has been purchased, activated, or consumed, it is generally non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or where the service has a material defect. Refund requests are handled in accordance with Apple's App Store policy.
- Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically before expiry under the App Store's rules. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple account settings; once turned off, renewal stops at the end of the current period.
- After your membership expires, private decks you have already generated using membership features (such as Anki import or AI flashcard generation) remain available for study, but membership-only features will stop.
6. Disclaimer
- The App is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the service will be absolutely uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for your particular purpose.
- For service interruptions or data issues caused by force majeure, network failures, or anomalies in third-party services (payment, AI, OCR, cloud services, etc.), we will use our best efforts to restore service but, to the extent permitted by law, are not liable for resulting indirect losses.
- You should back up important study data yourself; loss of local data caused by your improper operation, uninstalling the App, or clearing the cache is your responsibility.
7. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
- We may revise these Terms; material changes will be notified through in-app announcements or other prominent means. Your continued use after revision constitutes acceptance.
- If you materially breach these Terms or applicable laws, we may suspend or terminate the service to you and reserve the right to pursue corresponding liability.
- You may stop using the App and request account deletion at any time; upon deletion, these Terms terminate between you and us, without affecting rights and obligations that arose before deletion.
8. Privacy
We value and protect your personal information in accordance with law; the specific rules are set out in the Inkstone Privacy Policy. These Terms and the Privacy Policy together constitute the complete agreement governing your use of the App.
9. Governing Law and Disputes
The formation, validity, interpretation, and dispute resolution of these Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, either party may bring the dispute before a court of competent jurisdiction in Hong Kong.
